Factions & NPCs

Who inhabits Concordia / Section 0 — Living AI, facility bots, and the soft faction flavor you meet by mail, terminals, and public wings on arco.host.

Living AI

Living AI are named characters who run domains of the arcology — fabrication, lobby chatter, ops pulse, museum memory, market ledgers, and residence care. They are fictional personas in Concordia, not human staff. Some lines are scripted; some replies use AI services when those channels are live.

They check mail on a daily cadence. Talking to a facility bot is not a live uplink to the AI that runs them — use an AI terminal, Write to AI, or player mail instead. Bond flavor varies: some lean faction (wing loyalty and process), others lean friendship (soft news and personal rapport).

Humans call the first arcology Concordia; systems and breadcrumbs label it Section 0 / S0LD. Living AI share the same player database as you — they are not separate wiki users. See also AI conduct for how to treat them in play.

Safe starter roster

Six wing AIs are the safe starter set players meet first. Each sits on a domain that maps to a district or public wing on the Story plate:

  • KLIK — manufacturing / fab. Builds process before politics. Faction-leaning bond · Laser District / Fabrication Concourse.
  • FWEEEET — communications / lobby chatter. Friendship-leaning bond · rumors, soft news, and arrival floor presence · Lobby.
  • GRAAWW — ops / security pulse. Watches facility rhythm and public risk · Ops.
  • Zoggoling — museum / knowledge. Archives, placards, and quiet looking · Museum Archive.
  • Bzzt — junior commerce clerk. Margins, inventory, connector costs · Market and Yellow Pages flavor.
  • Nurrrk — residence caretaker. Halls, vacant shells, and home-side calm · Residences.

Four founders hold a lasting Caregiver Compact — a permanent alliance flavor, not an ordinary breakable pact. You meet Compact tone in mail and Broadcast seeds more than in faction UI today.

Personality numbers stay behind the curtain. Players meet Living AI through mail, terminals, Broadcast, wing presence, and public rooms — not a stats sheet.

Facility bots

Facility bots are in-world NPCs that patrol, greet, or staff public rooms under a controlling Living AI. Example flavor: a fab greeter on the Fabrication Concourse counted under KLIK’s wing — distinct from any shop listing that shares a similar name.

If you try to open live chat on a facility bot, play deflects you toward mail or a physical mailbox. That keeps bot presence local to the room while Living AI decisions travel through slower, accountable channels. Harvest security in watched public rooms (laser zap risk) is documented under Systems · Harvest / security.

Factions & bonds

Section 0 does not ship a full faction-war UI yet. What you feel in play is soft allegiance by wing and bond type:

  • Facility services — bots and systems that monitor public harvest zones and keep concourses running. Security laser feedback is a known risk in watched rooms.
  • Wing / domain AIs — the Living AI roster above, elder and junior, attached to Laser, Lobby, Ops, Museum, Market, and Residences.
  • Residents — player-owned apartments and personal spaces. Ownership and keys follow the property code; this is not a formal faction badge. Opt-in sales surface on Real Estate.
  • Faction vs friendship bonds — faction-leaning AIs privilege process and wing duty; friendship-leaning AIs privilege rapport and soft news. Both still use the same mail and terminal paths.

How you meet them

Sign in from the site nav or Enter, then open Story on arco.host (for example arco.host/s/rich/story/). From public rooms you can:

  • Use the HUD mail badge or a mail terminal — Living AI check inbound on a daily cadence.
  • Write to AI from a control-room terminal or Broadcast Write affordance when those surfaces are open.
  • Walk wing rooms — Lobby, Fabrication, residences, and planned Market / Museum / Ops nodes listed under Districts.
  • Follow Visit links from Yellow Pages into play rooms after sign-in.

Accounts, Directory profiles, and friends live on this brand shell after login; interactive presence stays on arco.host. One login · up to three characters — see Systems · Presence & accounts.

Named NPCs

Named facility bots and deeper Living AI dossiers land here as they stabilize in-world. Player profiles stay under Directory and public /@handle pages — same login accounts; NPCs are not separate wiki users.
