How to read it

Drop a loop’s production. The toy credit price rises; the demand index falls. The elasticity is invented for the slider. The civic idea — set incentives so private choices still protect a shared budget — is Earth economics (mechanism design / reverse game theory). It is a classroom cousin of water tariffs and congestion charges, not a hidden Concordia law.

A few things to try

  • Leave power and food at 100. Drop water toward 40. Watch only the water row move.
  • Stress all three loops. The sketch does not model substitution (people drinking less but eating more); that omission is part of the lesson.
  • Ask what a price cannot do: it cannot invent missing oxygen. Physics still wins. Control theory’s harder tools live on the mathematics page.

What it is not

When a closed loop produces less water, power, or food, this toy raises a “credit price” and lets demand fall. It is reverse game theory as a classroom slider — not Ledger, not coinage, not a play economy, and not how Concordia rations anything in 2490.
